Jackie O considering legal action for wrongful termination

In another twist on the Kyle and Jackie O story this afternoon, Sam Buckingham-Jones reports in The Australian Financial Review that Jackie has accused her former employer of wrongful termination and misleading the market, after ARN Media’s ASX statement last week.

ARN issued a statement to the stock market on 3rd March after Jackie left the show and ARN management and HR met with her.

Jackie later said she “didn’t quit” and Kyle said he wanted to be back on air.

ARN has told us that the company has “no comment” to make on the report.

We have requested further details from Jackie’s management and will update this story when more is known.

She should tag them down big time to them for everything they have

I believe that she can sue for breach of contract, but as Kyle and Jackie have made it clear on occassion after occassion that they own the show and they license it to ARN, meaning they are not employees and not subject to any unfair dismissal. Obscure all round.

Kyle could half do the letter he owes them in the 14 days. And they could both sue for a rough removal. Then pick it up and go over the road. They still have the number one show in Australia’s biggest market and more street talk than I have seen about a radio show ever! So its repair if you can, but if you can’t and ARN dont want you get out of contract, sue and build again. Either way, they could start there own carplay app and drag lots away from the medium, is that worth it! WHo knows.
