Adrian Brine’s new radio role in NZ

Adrian Brine has departed ARN and Australia for a new role as Group Content Manager for MediaWorks NZ radio stations The Edge, Mai FM and George FM. While he has wrapped up his role as Content Director for Melbourne’s KIIS 101.1, he will continue as Director of Growth for broadcast promotions management platform Audata.

Adrian made the announcement on LinkedIn:

The superstar wife in question is Ash London who is currently hosting the Hopeless Romantics podcast.

Adrian was with KIIS and ARN for two years. He had taken two years out of the industry in 2020 to focus on fatherhood. He had spent 13 years with SCA in leadership roles before that.

What programming for Kiis Melb is there?

Networked everything.

Could easily write a few liners and aircheck the newsreader within an hour at most.

The Kiwi job sounds far more fulfilling.

I might be biased having now worked with NZME for the last 9 years but I have to say that New Zealand radio is one of the most vibrant radio markets in the world right now – yes there are revenue challenges and changing consumption habits that all of us are dealing with, but right now our Kiwi friends are producing some of the most inventive, original content on radio, anywhere. They have content directors for every brand. There are multiple formats for consumers – 2 genuine top40s targeting people under 30….shock horror, Urban Top40’s, hard charging rock brands that play genuinely loud music like the Rock and Radio Hauraki….it’s a very exciting place for content creators. All of this is to say Adrian will be feel at home in New Zealand. All the best mate!
