Adelaide’s top rating Afternoons announcer Molly Rose to leave Triple M

Adelaide’s top rating Afternoons announcer Molly Rose has shared the news that she will be leaving Triple M.

“I guess all good times (and greatest hits) come to an end,” Molly said via Instagram.

“Sadly, my role as your Triple M workday announcer and Rush Hour anchor will be finishing up at the end of November.”

Molly recently celebrated her 4th consecutive #1 result in the Afternoon timeslot with a 16.4 share.

News of Molly’s departure follows the shock announcement that Triple M’s Rush Hour with Bernie Vince, Greg Blewett and Andrew Jarman would not be returning to the airwaves in 2025.

Of her time at the Ms, Molly says “I love this team and I feel very grateful to have been given the opportunity to live out my dream and learn from the best in the business.”

“It has never been lost on me how ridiculously cool it is to come to work, play some songs, and then give someone brand new Harley after lunch.”

“Whilst this news has been a huge shock, I’m hopeful this is the beginning of my next chapter in radio.”

Clearly held in high regard among her radio colleagues, Molly’s social media post was flooded with messages of support:

“You’re a fantastic talent on air and you light up a room. Cliche as it sounds this may be the end of one chapter but certainly not the full story. The best is yet to come.”

Molly previously worked as a Breakfast announcer for Power FM SA and Magic 105.9.

When Radio Today spoke to Molly exactly one year ago, she shared how exciting it felt to make it on air in a metro market. Working in a studio with a window – and a view of the city she grew up in – was the ultimate goal.

Landing a role at Triple M Adelaide was an absolute dream come true.

Molly says she’ll always be grateful to Matthew O’Reilly and Mel Anderson for giving her the opportunity.

Determined to bring all of herself to the airwaves – the good, the bad and even the downright ugly – listeners connected with Molly’s authenticity, as reflected in the survey results.

And that’s what Molly will miss most. The listeners.

“I’ve taken countless calls over the last 18 months – mostly telling people this isn’t the repeated song – but also on some of their toughest days,” she says.

“I feel so lucky to have been able to connect with people across Adelaide, who welcomed me into their cars, homes and offices every day.”

So many women are being cut from a network that barely has any anyway!

This is an all-time low for MMM Adelaide. Not only is Molly a lovely girl and great radio person, she is one of Sean Craig Murphy’s most well-known radio school success stories and I find it abhorrent that this is how SCA are treating her, and something tells me she would have had many more successful years and survey results at MMM Adelaide. In spite of this week’s challenges, I wish Molly well in the future.
