CRA shares new ratings schedule, pauses regional surveys until 2021

Commercial Radio Australia has unveiled an updated 2020 radio ratings schedule, with GfK’s sixth survey of the year to be released on Tuesday, September 29.

There will be three surveys between now and the end of the year, with the first ratings period to begin in a matter of weeks on July 26, running through to September 19.

In addition, commercial radio’s peak body has made the decision not to undertake any further surveys for Newcastle, Canberra and Gold Coast/Tweed Heads until 2021.

The forthcoming surveys will see the first metro radio ratings released since survey two, after which CRA were forced to hit pause on the ratings, when using paper diaries was considered too risky due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In the meantime, CRA commissioned data provider GfK to undertake an online e-diary listening survey.

In results released last month, the e-diary found weekly listening was up by 786,000 people across the five metro markets compared with the second traditional book of the year.

Survey seven will now take place from August 23 to September 19, and September 20 to October 24, with the results to be released on Thursday, November 5.

Following that, survey eight will take into account dates from September 20 to November 28, and drop ratings on Tuesday, December 8.
