Two new shows for the Hit Network’s national weekend line up

The Hit Network has announced two new shows for its national weekend line up, featuring Nic Kelly and podcasters Lucy Jackson and Nikki Westcott.
Nic will bring his extensive music knowledge to the airwaves in a dedicated music show on Saturday nights.
Nic says “It has been a lifelong goal of mine to create a music-focused national radio show. Australian music is so rich, diverse and exciting and I can’t wait to chat with incredible homegrown artists and spotlight their new music each week alongside the big international hits that matter.”
Lucy Jackson and Nikki Westcott from the popular Happy Hour with Lucy & Nikki podcast have landed on the airwaves with their very first radio gig.
Real and unfiltered, the girls will discuss all the things that would usually be locked-up in your friends’ group chat.
“We can’t quite believe that the Hit Network is trusting us with our own national radio show, but we do know that we are going to have a lot of fun making it. Watch this space Australia, we’ll be hitting the airwaves soon!” said Lucy and Nikki.
Head of Hit Metro Content Amanda Lee says “We are excited to announce two new shows to the stellar line up across the Hit Network, which will elevate Australia’s Saturday nights to the ultimate party.”

Good move by the Hit Network on this one. It is really sad to see how Saturday nights have been neglected by programmers. And for the past year and a bit, just running music commercials and mashups since Ben Carney and Nate Bongiovanni running Saturday nights out of WA.
I hate to be devil’s advocate, but one of these girls should really learn how to panel.
Is an anchor really necessary but then again I haven’t seen 3 people before so let’s see how the show runs.
However, if they can get some momentum going and last more than 12 months doing every single Saturday night, credit to them! All the very best and I’ll be tuning in and giving it a go!
