Tuk tuk trek to work for Wave FM’s Lyndal & Crammy
A most unusual mode of transport was on display in the Illawarra earlier this week, as 96.5 Wave FM’s Drive show hosts Lyndal and Crammy got right into the spirit of Ride To Work Day.
After deciding to ride to work, another big decision needed to be made: What would they ride ON?

Listeners were quick to offer their suggestions, including a jetpack, stand up paddleboard, space hopper and a bicycle tuk tuk,
They settled on the tuk tuk.
Their next task was to track down this rare type of bike, which they managed to find in China.

Like all good sporting events, they got a sponsor on board to pay for the bike, ordered it and crossed their fingers it would turn up in time for Ride To Work Day.
The bike did arrive, with a few days to spare. Lyndal and Crammy wasted no time trying to find someone to assemble their tuk tuk, enlisting the help of a local bike shop.
From 3pm Lyndal and Crammy broadcast their show live from the bike as they attempted to cycle 23 km from Sandon Point in Bulli to the Wave FM studios in Warrawong.
Lyndal and Crammy successfully managed to complete their ride in 3 hours and 40 minutes, arriving at work at 6.40 pm with 20 minutes to spare!
