Former Channel Seven reporter Jodie Clarke has just launched her own career-driven podcast called The Personality Hire.

Shining a light on how charisma and instinct shape modern careers, the podcast is already resonating with ambitious creatives and media professionals, reaching #14 on Apple’s Career Podcasts Chart.

In her debut episode, Jodie shares how she went from Executive Assistant to full-time reporter in under two years.

Her first guest was 92.7 MIX FM Breakfast host Annabelle ‘A.B’ Brett – fresh from her show’s #1 rating in the latest radio survey for Queensland’s Sunny Coast.

The latest episode drops tomorrow and features Curious Media co-founder Poppy Reid (main photo and above).

Poppy shares candid insights on leadership, imposter syndrome, and building profitable media brands.

This ep also dives into:

  • Why putting her face to Rolling Stone boosted revenue 30%
  • Navigating imposter syndrome post-Brag Media sale
  • Women reshaping leadership in Australian media
  • The future of personality-driven content

On stepping into the spotlight at Rolling Stone, Poppy says “I realised how much more beneficial it was for the company, with me being the face of it, we actually saw a 30% increase in the brand deals that we locked in when I was having those commercial and editorial meetings as the face of the business… so it benefited the company, profitability went up”

As for her advice as a media founder, Poppy says “Every company needs a face of the business, if you do not have a personality-driven strategy for any brand that you have, then you probably need one”

Jodie describes the podcast is a candid, practical and fun conversation about leadership, risk, and the future of media brands.
