NO radio station can rightfully claim to have the most listeners. Even Kyle and Jackie (with a seemingly brag-worthy 11.3% share) have 88.7% of radio listeners NOT tuning in each morning. Oh, how will THEY live with themselves?! And the so-called “mighty” 3AW missed out on 84.9% of Melbourne radio listeners. Starting your day WITHOUT catching up with the Rumour File? HOW?!

The radio ratings system is – really – nothing more than an opportunity to jerk the joystick, and it needs to be seen and called out for what it is. It needs to change, really. This isn’t sour grapes from someone whose results tanked, nor from someone whose station doesn’t’ participate. It’s a “rose-coloured glasses OFF” look at reality!

You might want to brush up on radio survey data. K&J don’t have 11.3% of the listeners. They have 11.3% of the listen-ing in breakast. Very different. If you want people, look at cume not share.
