B105’s Matty Acton raises over $27,000 from Kokoda walk

On Brisbane’s B105, Breakfast host Matty Acton has reflected on his Kokoda Trail walk, ahead of Anzac Day.

Matty completed the journey two weeks ago.

His father-in-law Peter suggested he take on the walk to raise funds and awareness for Winter Shelter Toowoomba.

Funds raised have gone towards employing a specialised support worker to assist and advocate on behalf of the Winter Shelter guests, improving outcomes for those experiencing homelessness over winter in 2024. More info can be found here.

With an original goal of $10,000, Matty raised over $27,000 and a total of more than $95,000 was raised by his team.

Matty, who even took co-host Abby for a training session before he left, says “It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.”
