Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join 2GB as a casual digital content producer where you will support our coverage ad hoc during times of sick leave and annual leave.

As the Digital Content Producer, you’ll report directly to the Digital Lead, where you’ll be instrumental in captivating digital audiences across our web, app, social, and audio platforms. Additionally, you’ll have the exciting responsibility of managing online communities within the dynamic landscape of Nine’s radio and podcast properties.

Day to day you will:

  • Produce accurate, concise and engaging written content in a timely fashion
  • Produce and distribute digital content for 2GB, 9Podcasts, associated social media accounts and relevant channels within Nine Radio’s digital strategy;
  • Cover breaking news and showcase the best of our audio across all platforms;
  • Use your digital content expertise to help Radio and 9Podcasts production teams ideate and create incredible content;
  • Use measurement tools such as Google Analytics, Triton Webcast Omny to monitor online performance and gain a better understanding of audience patterns;
  • Ensure all content is created and updated in a timely fashion to the highest possible editorial standards

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A degree in Journalism, Communications or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Availability over July and August specifically
  • Writing/publishing experience for web or social
  • The ability to identify news and write about it, fast and accurately
  • An eye and ear for legal red flags
  • A healthy obsession with social media (especially Twitter, Facebook and/or Instagram) and the ability to identify social ‘moments’
  • Photo/video editing skills are preferred
  • A team-first attitude
