Star shines again in Xtra Insights Survey 1 for Cairns
ARN’s Star 102.7 remains the clear leader in the latest Xtra Insights Survey for Cairns, slightly down for all audiences 10+ (-0.9) to 26.1, but still well ahead in all day parts and weekends.

Star’s Breakfast duo is now Johnny and Inkie, with Inkie’s long time breakfast partner Dave Warner having retired at the end of 2023.
Star still leads this timeslot, down slightly (-0.4) to a 28.4% audience share.
Second and third overall were SCA stations Hit 103.2 (-0.7 to 16.7) and 99.5 Triple M (+1.5 to 16.3). Triple M saw the biggest improvement overall. Tammy & JB on breakfast continue to pick up listeners and are gaining ground on Hit’s Bronte and Lakey.
The regional Queensland Rush Hour Drive team of A.B and Elliott went out on a high with the biggest growth of all in their timeslot (up 2.1% to 17.8). Their show makes way next year for the newly networked Drive offering, hosted by Marty Sheargold.
Stu Tolan, Content Director at Star 102.7/846 4CA, said “It’s been a year since I took the reins at Star 102.7/4CA, a year full of creating outstanding content, meeting our listeners, building up our teams and creating a workplace culture any organisation would want. I’m so incredibly proud of my team, they have put the work in, followed our strategic plan, trusted and supported each other and most importantly, had fun.”
Star General Manager Karen Lyon added “An outstanding achievement for the dedicated team in Cairns! It’s been an incredible year of effort both on and off the air, culminating in fantastic results. Local radio in the tropical far north is thriving and I am so excited to be part of ARN in the Tropical Far North.”
