SCA announces Dan Jackson as head of audio operations

Former Assistant Editor

Dan Jackson has been appointed to the role of head of audio operations at Southern Cross Austereo.

The role is a new one, where Jackson is set to lead the national team of broadcast engineers.

He will also work closely with the head of broadcast operations, head of technology and chief operating officer as well as other key stakeholders.

“While radio remains core to our business, SCA’s strategic direction is squarely focused on audio in all its forms be they FM, AM or digital radio or audio-on- demand podcasting,” said chief operating officer John Kelly.

“And SCA is ensuring our customers can access our audio products when, where and how it suits them; via terrestrial, online, apps, audio home devices or any of the other emerging technologies.

“I’m delighted that after a comprehensive search of the industry, we have been able to provide this senior opportunity to one of our own talented staff. I congratulate and welcome Dan to his new position.”

Jackson originally joined SCA in 2009 as a trainee engineer, and had worked his way to his recent role as national radio engineer.

But it’s ok for SCA to lose decades of experience in making Steve Adler redundant in much the same role?

Disgraceful.

He’s a good guy – it’s a shame he supports such a rotten NHL team.
