Sarah Forster makes ‘difficult decision’ to leave Star 104.5’s Rabbit & Sarah Breakfast show
Star 104.5 on the Central Coast will have a new Breakfast show next year, with Sarah Forster announcing she won’t be returning to the program.
Forster replaced Julie Goodwin in 2020, working alongside Dave ‘Rabbit’ Rabbetts and forming the Rabbit & Sarah show.
She has almost two decades experience in radio and has previously worked with the likes of Jonesy & Amanda.
Forster flagged career changes ahead when she announced her departure.
“It has been an absolute privilege to spend the past two years waking up the Central Coast and connecting with so many beautiful people and small businesses in our community, but I feel now is the time to take my career in a different direction,” she said.
“I look forward to plenty more laughs and quite possibly a tear or two before I finish up in December.”
Shayne Sinclair, Star 104.5’s program director, noted the impact and contribution of Forster during her time with the show.
“Sarah came into the lives of our audience during some of their hardest days ever due to the pandemic, something that would be incredibly challenging for even the most seasoned presenters. But during all that, Sarah had a remarkable way of connecting with our audience through content that was light-hearted, entertaining and fun. I’d like to thank Sarah for her commitment and contribution over the last two years.”
Co-host Rabbetts said working with Forster had been “stacks of fun”.
“Lots of laughs and great moments with our listeners, and our first #1 survey result. We’ve had a blast and I wish her all the best in her next challenge.”
In the most recent Gosford ratings, Rabbit & Sarah climbed 1.6 points, with 18.0% of people saying they listen to the show the most. This put it ahead of previous market leader, the Hit Network’s NSW Breakfast show.
Forster will continue with the program until December 3, and Rabbett’s 2022 co-host will be announced shortly.
