PositiveMedia responds to Melbourne’s mental health pandemic

Reporter

PositiveMedia, home of community radio station 89.9 TheLight, hosted an extraordinary community event in Melbourne this week.

On the eve of World Mental Health Day, almost 1,000 attendees from all over the city came together at CityLife Church in Wantirna to gain insights and wisdom on mental health.

The overwhelming demand for resources and support in the mental health space meant the event was fully booked a week in advance.

Renowned mental health experts Dr. Michael Carr-Gregg, Dr. Jodi Richardson and Mel Winterbine tackled the challenges surrounding mental health and created a safe, nurturing environment for open conversations.

The event catered to Melbourne families who are either facing difficulties or seeking a deeper understanding of mental health, providing valuable resources for support.

“At PositiveMedia, we love creating an environment where open conversations can flourish and we know how important this is for the people of Melbourne,” says Clayton Bjelan, CEO of PositiveMedia.

“We regularly hear this sentiment on 89.9 TheLight, and the overwhelming response to this event has highlighted just how critical it is to provide this type of support to the community.”
