Radio enthusiasts ham it up in Germany

It’s three days of radio gear, flea markets (and the odd pork knuckle), all washed down with $7 half-litre beers. A veritable hamfest!

Ham Radio – Europe’s biggest amateur radio exhibition – has just wrapped up in Friedrichshafen, Germany, having drawn radio enthusiasts from all over the world.

Under the banner ‘Discover the Sky: Amateur Radio meets Astronomy,’ exhibitors showcased all the latest technology.

But one of the biggest drawcards was the radio flea market – featuring a treasure trove of old radio equipment for sale.
