School takeover: i98FM’s Christian & Bella get their show on the road

i98FM’s Christian & Bella took their show on the road last Friday, broadcasting live in front of 800 excited students, parents and teachers at Hayes Park Public School.

Part of Christian and Bella’s School Takeover, the i98FM team packed up their entire studio, giving the Kanahooka community an exclusive, behind-the-scenes glimpse into the magic of live radio.

The school community turned up the energy with a powerful performance by the school’s First Nations dance group, dazzling routines from the Southern Stars performers and a rousing rendition of Christian and Bella’s new regional anthem ‘Illawarra Take Me There’, performed by the school choir.

Christian and Bella presented Hayes Park Public School Principal Lisa Matthes with a $1,000 cheque, thanks to Industrial Distributors.

The money will be used to fund vital new school resources.

Meanwhile, the i98FM Street Fleet kept the crowd fuelled and entertained, arriving armed with boxes of fresh fruit and a prize wheel loaded with handballs, frisbees, stickers, Wahoo products, and Goliath games.

Christian and Bella’s School Takeover is a region-wide competition giving five lucky schools across the Illawarra the chance to host a live broadcast.

Schools in the Illawarra can enter now via the i98FM website. The next winning school will be announced in the coming weeks.
