News.com.au launches weekday news podcast

A new podcast called, ‘I’ve Got News for You,’ has been launched by news.com.au, dishing up all the latest headlines.

The podcast is hosted by news.com.au’s Andrew “Bucky” Bucklow and will deliver new episodes every weekday.

The episodes will run around 20 minutes each and feature news.com.au’s journalists ready to deep dive into any issue that has captured the nation’s attention.

Presented in a fun, lively and direct manner, the style is made to reflect how the site talks to its audience every day and is made for young adults on the go.

In the first episode, Andrew Bucklow talks with Steve Irwin’s best friend and producer, Josh Stainton, about Steve’s death in 2006.

The pair discuss how Steve saved his crew from scrapes with death on many occasions, and the eerie circumstances in the lead up to Steve’s death.

“Three weeks before we were lined up to shoot, I actually rang Discovery and said, look I don’t feel good about this thing, I’d rather call it off,” said Stainton.

The timing coincides with Steve Irwin Day today, the 15^th November ,and is a little taste of what’s to come in the ‘I’ve Got News For You’ podcast.

Bucklow started his career as a commercial radio producer before joining news.com.au as a journalist in 2013. In 2019 he started hosting ‘From The Newsroom,’ a news.com.au podcast that delivers the headlines of the day in less than five minutes. Bucklow will continue to host ‘From The Newsroom’ as well as reach new audiences with ‘I’ve Got News For You.’
