New year, new home for Everyday Conspiracy Theories podcast

Reporter

The Everyday Conspiracy Theories podcast (ECT) has a new home this year, with co-hosts Sean Craig Murphy and Mena Soliman today announcing they’re now part of the global Acast community.

“We cherished our time with P.Zinner and Co., who got us on our feet and supported us every step of the way. We’re grateful to Justin McArthur and the team for all their hard work and belief.”

Sean says 2024 was a real eye-opener of a year, with ECT recognised in two major podcast awards and a tenfold increase in downloads following the ‘New and Noteworthy’ exposure on Apple.

“Naturally the appetite was there to see how we could take it to another level this year.”

Mena says tapping into the resources and experience of Acast has been amazing.

“We’re really excited about the opportunities we’ve got to grow our community and get even more people discovering Everyday Conspiracy Theories.”

To mark the new partnership with Acast, this week’s debut episode of ECT is a collaboration with Acast stablemates Shanelle Franklin and Tamara Linke (in main photo above with Sean and Mena) from The Beautiful Nightmare podcast.

“Tamara and Shanelle are great mates of ours, and after they won the Best Comedy category at the Australian Podcast Awards in November, we decided it was only right to exploit that friendship and ride their glamorous coattails all the way to the bank,” Sean says.

“They were so hilarious that we broke our ‘Never longer than 15 minutes’ rule and turned it into a double episode.”

This special extended episode will explore who devised #GirlMath, why (mostly) men flock to Bunnings, why women’s pockets are smaller than men’s and the curly question of who makes women shave.

So happy for Mena and Sean to see Everyday Conspiracy Theories go up and up! A great example of how to make a successful podcast… content, audio production, marketing, social media and visual aspects are all fantastic. Signing with Acast and exposure by Apple Podcasts and the Herald Sun just makes it even better. They should be really proud of themselves.
