Moonman pays tribute to Mulray following Hall Of Fame induction

Lawrence ‘The Moonman’ Mooney took the opportunity to reflect on the contribution of Doug Mulray to FM radio in Australia on his Breakfast show today.

Speaking on Triple M Sydney, Mooney paid tribute to Mulray, who was inducted into the Commercial Radio Australia Hall Of Fame at the weekend.

Mooney was also asked with delivering the speech to induct Mulray in Brisbane at the 2019 ACRAs.

“Many people who have met me since I’ve been on Triple M in Sydney have reminded me of Doug and his greatness,” he said on-air this morning.

“He came in 1982 when the station was just two years old… on-air for 10 years. He took us from a 2.6 share in Breakfast to 18+ which is a phenomenal success story.”

Listeners were then treated to some of the best bits of Mulray, while Gus Worland congratulated Mooney on his excellent speech at the awards night.
