Melissa Doyle joins smoothfm

Staff Writer

Former Sunrise host, and now news presenter, Melissa Doyle is joining the smoothfm lineup.

Starting next weekend she will host a Saturday/Sunday morning breakfast show from 6am to 10am.

Doyle has told The Sunday Telegraph, "I'm excited and nervous. I was blown away when they came to me. I'll have to practice my radio voice. It is new to me and I'm flattered and really excited by a new challenge."

"I'll be there to have a bit of a chat, share a few stories and tell everyone what my chaotic household is like on a Saturday morning," Mel said.

"It is probably me taking the kids to cricket rushing out the door as I put a load of washing on and someone is arguing over something. But it is mainly music, that is the timeslot and what everyone needs at that time."

Paul Jackson, dmg Radio’s Group Program Director said, “Melissa is an absolute icon and is the perfect start to the smoothfm weekend. With James Blunt just having joined and with the caliber of Richard Wilkins & David Campbell, Melissa will fit perfectly into the smoothfm family.”
