Marcus Paul’s new show ‘will continue to grow’

Marcus Paul says hi to all the ‘haters’ in our comments section, and also thanks those who posted supportive comments.

When he began his online radio show, we asked Marcus Paul to check back with us in a week or so to tell us how it is going.

With three shows under his belt and interaction to his show increasing via social media, and eventually live talkback, the show appears to be carrying on the momentum of his former 2SM breakfast program.

The show is live for 2 hours between 7-9am, but he intends to extend that to 3 hours daily eventually, according to comments in his first program. Using his nickname ‘Prawn,’ the replay of the show is nicknamed the ‘Prawncast.’

In the first show he spoke to NSW Independent MP Helen Dalton, and discussed the cost of living, Shane Warne and the floods.

Marcus Paul says “it’s going quite well – more than a thousand tuning in so far after three shows.”

“The social media side of things has been very positive. I think it will only continue to grow.

“I’m loving the format of some bite sized news bits, opinions, listener and Facebook feedback etc. It’s definitely different – combining news / opinion with current music, but I think the more it gets out there, it will continue to build up an audience.”

Is Radio Today going to promote every show that has 1,000 listeners because I know some community radio programs that would also like some coverage

You spend most of your time on stories zero people care about. 99.99% of readers have never heard of this guy or care and you are now flogging his online show lol.

Move on before we all do…

Again with the nasty comments from some people.

I reckon the guy should be applauded for having a go – and doing something different after his very public (and silly) sacking from 2SM. Going from a Sydney breakfast show to an small on line station show’s he is keen to keep going.

I listened to his show this morning and it sounds good – very professional and in my opinion very engaging with the audience he is trying to attract.

Rather than knocking someone – who obviously works pretty hard – how about people in the industry get behind the guy. I think his show will grow, and he is obviously good at promoting it (here) and on his social media pages that are among the best in the industry.
