Local superstar joins Leisel, Liam & Spida as Triple M Gold debuts new Breakfast show
Triple M Gold has this week debuted its new-look Breakfast show with Leisel Jones, Liam Flanagan and Peter ‘Spida’ Everitt, with Paralympic superstar and proud Gold Coast local Alexa Leary the first big in-studio guest.
As well as chatting about her charity work, her goals for 2025 and her new book due to be released at the end of the year, Alexa shared some raw and powerful insights which left everyone in the studio in awe.

Of living with a brain injury, Alexa said “I’ve learned to use code words for swearing, and I take ‘brain breaks’ when I need them. It helps me be better every day.”
“I fought so hard to live. I was in hospital for six months and had seven brain operations, but I proved the world wrong. I’m living my second life.”
“Now I move for those who can’t.”
With Alexa not doing many interviews this year, it was something of a coup for the first instalment of Triple M Gold Breakfast with Leisel Jones, Liam and Spida, which went to air on Monday.
It comes a month and a half after previous co-host Ali Plath confirmed that both she and show anchor Al Dobie would not be part of this year’s brekky line up.
