Keegan Brown joins Star Mackay and the Whitsundays
After departing Dubbo Super Radio Network station ZooFM in February, Keegan Brown has moved up north and landed a job with Star 101.9 Mackay and The Whitsundays as their Mornings Announcer and an Operations Assistant.
Keegan said:
“Living in the tropical humidity is like being smothered with a damp tea towel and there’s geckos living in my bathroom, uninvited, but it’s been a fantastic adventure so far.
Genuinely has reinforced my mentality when I finished AFTRS of how rewarding work in the regions can be when you’re looking to experience everything radio has to offer.”
Star was on top in the July 2024 Xtra Insights survey of the region. They had jumped from third to first with the ARN station leapfrogging the two SCA ones Hit 100.3 and Triple M 98.7. Keegan’s morning role takes over from Content Director Scott ‘Scotty’ Linden who has covered mornings and breakfast over the last two years.
