“I’ll be cheering from the sidelines.” Lauren Joyce farewells ARN
Lauren Joyce has officially closed the chapter on her time at ARN, with the sequel yet to be written.
Joyce farewelled colleagues on Friday, after her role as Chief Audience and Content Officer was made redundant.
Joyce says she has sat with a lot of emotions in the weeks since, but has distilled them down to two: disappointment and pride.
“Disappointment, not because the chapter is closing sooner than expected, but because I won’t get to be part of ARN’s next era. I won’t get to stand alongside this incredible team as they create content that pushes culture forward, challenges the critics, learn, grow, lead, recover, get promoted, or clear the path for talent to deliver their best work,” Joyce shared on LinkedIn.
“Pride in what we achieved across 7 years. Pride in the teams I had the privilege to lead. Pride in the people who trusted me to take on challenges I never would have backed myself for, and pride for those who didn’t just deliver on the bold strategies I set them – they excelled.”
“On Friday it felt like finishing an incredible book: one where I was attached to the characters, deeply invested in the story, but the sequel hadn’t been written yet. It’s was a strange mix of completion and anticipation.”
“To everyone who shaped this chapter—thank you.”
“I’ve learned so much, grown enormously, and made lifelong friends. I believe in ARN’s vision and the team leading it forward. The company is in strong, capable hands with Michael Stephenson & Alexis Poole —and I’ll be cheering from the sidelines.”
