Ian Smith signs with SENZ for three more years

Ian Smith has committed to SENZ (Sports Entertainment Network) for another three years.

Smith hosts the Mornings with Ian Smith program on SENZ, which offers sporting insights through interviews with athletes, coaches and decision-makers.

The detail of Smith’s analysis has made him a reputable source of sporting information across 28 SENZ stations. Smith will also be heard more broadly on SEN in Australia.

Smith, a former Black Caps wicketkeeper-batsman, said he is excited to continue and expand his role with SENZ.

“I’ve always loved talking about sport on the radio, and SENZ has provided the perfect platform for me to do so,” Smith said.

“In times of hardship, sport has the power to bring people together and provide a much-needed sense of community. As we face the recent weather tragedies that have impacted our nation, I am committed to using my platform to offer an escape for everyone and unite our listeners through discussions of the biggest issues on and off the field.”

SEN Chief Executive Officer Craig Hutchison said Smith’s re-signing to the network is great news for the future.

“We are delighted that Ian has shown his faith in SENZ and re-signed for another three years. He understands where we are heading as an organisation and his insightful analysis and respected voice have made him a trusted figure in New Zealand’s sports media landscape,” Hutchison said.

“His continued commitment to building SENZ as a national powerhouse is a testament to his dedication and passion for delivering the best in sports coverage to our listeners.”
