Fuel for school: Geelong’s 96three listeners answer the call

Reporter

Did you know that 15% of students in Australian schools go without a packed lunch?

96three FM has been busy over the month of January with its back-to-school campaign called Little Boxes, doing what community radio does best.

The Geelong-based Christian station is asking listeners to fill empty lunchboxes with non-perishable food, to help ensure kids in need get the nourishment they need to fuel them through the school day.

That food might be fruit or jelly cups, museli bars, rice cakes, dried fruit, popcorn packs or pretzel packs.

Packed lunchboxes can be dropped into the 96three studios at 147 Marshalltown Road in Grovedale.
