End of the line for Triple M’s Rush Hour in Perth
Triple M’s Rush Hour shows in both Adelaide and Perth will finish at the end of this year.
In confirming the news today, an SCA spokesperson said “104.7 Triple M Adelaide’s The Rush Hour with Bernie, Blewey & Jars and 92.9 Triple M Perth’s The Rush Hour with Embers & Katie will finish at the end of 2024.”
“Further detail regarding the 2025 Drive shows for these stations will be provided in due course.”
“Triple M thanks the teams from 104.7 Triple M Adelaide’s The Rush Hour with Bernie, Blewey & Jars and 92.9 Triple M Perth’s The Rush Hour with Embers & Katie for their exceptional work and commitment to deliver amazing entertainment to their loyal listeners.”
“Bernie Vince, Greg Blewett, Andrew Jarman, Andrew Embley and Katie Lamb have all been outstanding broadcasters as part of the Triple M family and we thank them for their incredible contributions.”
In June this year, Lamb opened up about her friendship with Embley, telling Radio Today that talking to a mate on air for a living was a dream gig.
Looking forward to hearing what bonuses management give themselves for all this cost saving.
Kinda knew this decision will happen. Wouldn’t be shock they fully get rid the rush hour team in NSW and the Two rush hours teams in QLD.
More “ Stimulating” content coming from Sydney. #longlivelocalradio
Apparently “Exceptional work and commitment to deliver amazing entertainment to their loyal listeners” and the fact that they ” have all been outstanding broadcasters as part of the Triple M family” counts for diddly squat when some bean counter decides to cut cost.
Bring back Rock’s greatest hit’s back to Perth with it!
get rid of that Triple j music with it!
Bring back rock greatest hit’s with it!
I’ve met Embers and Katie a couple of times at 92.9 Triple M outside broadcasts. Genuinely lovely people who would love to sit down and have a yarn with you (like what Katie did after her show the second time. She’s an angel for doing that). This was Perth’s only local drive show and the state’s only networked WA-themed drive show and now it’s gone. Fourth-placed drive show in the recent GfK survey for Perth (which is not a bad result in itself). Astonishing to think that this is how we are treating our vital community services. I feel bad for Bernie, Blewey and Jars too. Sack management!
Proudly national, fiercely local…..
