Sony Music Australia-signed country artist Brad Cox is having a crack at radio, fronting a new show on one of Apple Music’s around the clock stations.

Happy Hour Down Under with Brad Cox launches on the streaming service today at 6pm AEDT on Apple Music Country, and shifts to 5pm on Fridays from next week.

The singer – tipped by many in the music industry to be Nashville’s next Australian breakthrough act – won the coveted Toyota Star Maker competition in 2018.

He has since become a four-time Golden Guitar Award nominee who continues to go from stride to stride with the release of his self-titled debut album, as well as selling out shows.

“I’m so pumped to have a radio show on Apple Music Country,” Cox said in a statement.

“It’s so different from touring, writing and recording but to be able to connect with music fans all over the world right now is a gift.

“I’m chuffed to have been asked to do it and being one of two Aussies with a show on a global Apple Music radio station is bloody awesome.”

Apple said each episode “captures the feeling of going to happy hour” with songs and artists that inspire and excite the Jindabyne, NSW-based singer-songwriter.

Cox is no stranger to radio. His songs have been played on stations across the country, landing him two #1 singles on the official country airplay chart in 2020, with ‘Give Me Tonight’ and ‘Drinking Season’ both topping the TMN Country Hot 50.
