Australia’s Killer Secrets – Tapt Media podcast asks are notorious unsolved murders connected
Tapt Media‘s new podcast series Australia’s Killer Secrets asks the question – are some of Australia’s most notorious unsolved murders and disappearances connected?
Publishing under the Motive & Method umbrella, forensic scientist and criminologist Dr Xanthe Weston and criminal psychologist Tim Watson-Munro take listeners and viewer further inside dozens of unsolved cases across New South Wales.
With unprecedented access inside a landmark parliamentary inquiry, the series follows the hearings as they unfold, exploring the evidence, investigative failures, unanswered questions and potential links between cases across more than four decades. From long-held suspicions surrounding Ivan Milat to emerging theories about other possible offenders, Australia’s Killer Secrets investigates some of the nation’s most enduring mysteries.
Dr Xanthe Weston said:
“This inquiry is wide ranging, will ask questions that have been unanswered for decades, and is a genuine opportunity to make connections between cases, potentially leading to new lines of investigation. Families will never speak of closure, but resolution for some is still possible. We owe it to them to try.”
Tapt Media Head of Podcasts, Del Fordham said:
“With Xanthe and Tim appearing at the inquiry the team were presented with the perfect opportunity to bring their expertise and real time insight to our audience, and we hope that through our channels we can create more awareness of these cases.”
The first episode sees Dr Weston and Watson-Munro dive into some of Australia’s most notorious cold cases being re-examined, including some they have been working on professionally for years alongside family members. Episode two is a trip to Bowral in the NSW Southern Highlands, as they take their audience inside the hearings and break down their own evidence.
All seven episodes in the series will be available throughout June. You can listen on Apple Podcasts and Spotify plus watch on Youtube.
