Ange McCormack to depart triple j for 7am podcast

After nearly 8 years as a triple j host and Digital Editor, Ange McCormack has announced she is leaving to join the daily news podcast 7am.

McCormack will cover for host Ruby Jones while she is on maternity leave.

McCormack made the announcement yesterday, describing it as a huge opportunity.

She said on LinkedIn: “I’m so lucky to have spent my formative years at a place that has taught me EVERYTHING I know. From reporting to hosting to learning from the best radio and journalism brains in the country – working at triple j has been the single biggest privilege of my life.”

Named Young Journalist of the Year at the Kennedy Awards in 2019, McCormack was also a digital producer for Unravel True Crime and a triple j Hack reporter for seven years.

McCormack starts her new role at 7am on July 17.
