Ali Plath joins Triple M Gold Coast Breakfast

Ali Plath will join the Gold Coast’s 92.5 Triple M Breakfast show alongside Peter ‘Spida’ Everitt and Sean ‘Flan’ Flanagan from January 2022.

She replaces Bridget ‘Bridge’ Brousard, who signed off from the station last week.

Ali has Queensland roots having grown up in Brisbane and is passionate about sport, music and comedy.

Ali’s sporting history has taken her from the touch footy field to the AFL oval and to the cricket pitch. Playing over many years at the Gold Coast’s home of touch, Owen Park, and last year represented the Gold Coast at the Queensland State Cup in its over 30s women’s team.

After earning her stripes, Ali landed a breakfast gig on Hobart’s 107.3 Triple M, alongside radio great, Dave Noonan, in 2017. Now returning to the Coast for good, Ali arrives from her most recent breakfast show, on the Sunshine Coast’s, Zinc FM.

“It’s impossible to adequately express my excitement levels for joining Triple M Breakfast on the Gold Coast. It’s such a privilege to step into the show, alongside Flan and Spida. Bridge has left a huge legacy at 92.5 and it’s one that I will do my absolute best to carry on and do her proud. I honestly feel like I’ve won radio lotto,” said Ali.

Ali, who is a mother of four children, not only loves sport, but also isn’t afraid of the stage, leading her to make the Queensland State Finals of “Raw Stand-Up Comedy,” and also perform in the ensembles of Tasmanian productions, ‘My Fair Lady’ and ‘We Will Rock You’, both playing at the Theatre Royal in Hobart.

“As a South East Queenslander, I can’t wait to call the Gold Coast home, along with my family. It will be the first time in six years I’ll have my four kids all living in the same city. I’m also about to gain two of the best radio teammates anyone could possibly ask for. Bring on 2022!”

Ali’s radio history began following an “Intro to Radio” course at AFTRS in Sydney and she then landed on community radio at Bay FM in the South-East Queensland Redlands region. Ali entered the doors of Triple M Brisbane learning the ropes and how to work the panel.

92.5 Triple M Content Director, Corey Kay, said: “It’s a fresh chapter for Triple M in 2022 with the addition of Ali to our local line up of Flan and Spida.”

“Ali is genuine, loves a laugh, has life experiences, yarns that’ll make your toes curl, and a deep passion for being part of the community. We know the Gold Coast and Tweed are going to love Ali as much as we do.”

Catch Ali alongside Spida and Flan on 92.5 Triple M Breakfast, weekdays 5am-9am from January 2022.

There are comments on this site asking why can’t so-and-so get a shot or where are the people who haven’t come from reality TV and here is a great example of hard work paying off.

Ali is not just a wonderful human, hilarious comedian and sports enthusiast – she’s a truly incredible broadcaster and I can’t wait for more people to fall in love with her.

Love you, Ali. So proud of you. Go get ’em xx

I can’t really put in words how excited I was for Ali when she told me the news. I know how much this means to her.

Al started at community station Bay Fm and has worked her butt off over the past 6 years to get where she is. There’s been plenty of sacrifices on the way. Al is a shining example of how hard work and immersing yourself in your market can still get you noticed.

Absolute Star.

Stfu Mick. Anyone who respects this medium loves to see a legitimate broadcaster rise in the ranks, which is what Ali is!
She’s an excellent talent and even better person, the best news!

One of the nicest, most genuine radio people out there. Well earned Ali!

Also Mickc, maybe turn on a radio once in a while?
