GOLD 98.3 Central Victoria changes things with a wake up call

Staff Writer

GOLD 98.3 Central Victoria has announced a major shake-up in station sound by introducing a brand new program, The Wake Up Call with Wayne Gregson and Bruce Lees.

The show will kick off next week, running daily from 5:30am to 8:30am each weekday providing a mix of news, views, music, and entertainment.

“We’ve been working on this concept for some time and we’re excited about this new, innovative style of radio in Bendigo and Central Victoria,” GOLD general manager Shane Hogan said.

“Bruce and Wayne have known each other for some time and in planning done so far, it’s clear there’s a strong respect between them and commitment to the concept.

“The show will have a strong immediacy and a guarantee to keep our community fully informed, to explore issues which matter, and to challenge or surprise in an entertaining format.”

Wayne is a Walkley award-winning journalist with more than three decades in the industry while Bruce has a wealth of reporting experience including a ten-year stint as the editor of the Bendigo Advertiser.

“We will use the power of radio to reach our listeners first thing in their home, car, or work, with what matters in their local town or city,” Bruce said.

“We will be the first place to go each morning with a “wake up call” to find out what’s really going on.”

Catch The Wake Up Call‘s first broadcast next Monday, August 6 from 5:30am.
