Triple M’s Spida gets Gold Coasters together to help Currumbin Community Special School

Reporter

This morning on the Gold Coast’s 92.5 Triple M Gold, Flan, Ali & Spida broadcast live from Currumbin Community Special School.

Over the past couple of weeks, Breakfast host Spida has been up for hire! Listeners could register for Spida’s help with any job they had on their to-do list, and he would turn up ready to work.

Spida found himself cleaning garages, pressure-cleaning driveways, clearing gutters, making curtains and even babysitting!

For Spida’s final job, Currumbin Community Special School called on him to help restore their garden sleepers.

In a garden full of flowers and veggie patches, Spida and the team spent today replacing these garden beds and planting fruit trees and seedlings so the gardens could continue to thrive. Donations, new plants and equipment were supplied by the community including Gold Coast Community Fund, Bosh Bins, Attachment Warehouse Gold Coast and Greenlife Garden Centre & Stockfeed.

Over 25 Gold Coasters, the school’s staff and students all pitched in to get the job done.

Spida says “When we saw the call out, we didn’t know how big the job was going to be and then we realised when we got here!

“Thanks a lot to everyone who has supported us today and been involved, it means so much to the students and the school’s community.”
