Voiceover artist Amy Longhurst has passed away

Former Assistant Editor

Amy Longhurst, one of Australia’s best-known voiceover artists, has died.

Amy passed away on Sunday evening at her home.

The ad industry loses one of its best and brightest, with Amy having worked for a golden list of iconic Australian brands including Telstra, Kellogg’s, the NRL, Milo, Kleenex, Westpac, Napisan, Preen, Campbell’s, NRMA, Vodafone, Uncle Toby’s and the Commonwealth Bank.

She also spent 20 years as the voice of Nickelodeon’s Nick Jr Channel, and the Lifestyle Channel.

Amy will be missed by the radio industry too, having worked as a presenter on 89.7 Jazz FM, while she also provided in-house voice seminars for radio stations including as Nova 96.9.

Her talents didn’t end there, spending time performing as the lead in musicals, singing on award-winning campaign jingles, teaching voiceover at NIDA, AFTRs and the Australian Theatre School.

She also ran a recording partnership training and producing demos for voice-over talent with radio produce Dave Stein called Launchpad, and her band Hairpin Culvert recently released their debut album.
