Vale: Bob Francis

Sad news that legendary Adelaide radio icon Bob Francis has suddenly passed away.

Bob was aged 77.  

While FIVEaa played a big part in his career and he was known for creating just a few controversies, he was also the guy who brought the Beatles to Adelaide back in the 60’s with a massive petition while he was at 5AD..  But it was actually Talk Back radio that Bob is also credited for, playing a big role in developing the format in Australia and Adelaide.

Neil O’Reilly, NOVA Entertainment’s Adelaide General Manager said, “We are deeply saddened to hear of the news of Bob Francis’ passing. He was a highly respected member of FIVEaa’s on air family for 28 years and played an integral role in the station’s success. On behalf of Cathy O’Connor, myself and the NOVA Entertainment team, our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family and friends at this difficult time.”
