Tom Atkinson promoted to executive producer of sport at SCA Perth
Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) in Perth has made another change to its team as it gears up for 2021, promoting Tom Atkinson to executive producer of sport and Rush Hour.
In the role, Atkinson will build and oversee Triple M Perth’s Rush Hour program, as well as all Perth-based AFL coverage which is sent out to stations across the country.
Content director of the newly-rebranded 92.9 Triple M Perth, Tim Arnold, said: “Sport is such an important pillar of what 92.9 Triple M is giving Perth in 2021. To be able to have Tom, a hugely passionate sports fan and gifted producer dedicated to overseeing everything locally is just another arrow in our quiver.”
Atkinson joined SCA in 2016 and has also worked as a sports reporter for Seven West Media.
His is just the latest in a raft of changes as SCA ramps up its Triple M offering in the city.
The new Breakfast program of Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas, former Hit 92.9 co-host Xavier Ellis, and associate editor of Seven West Media’s The West Australian, Jenna Clarke, kicks off next week. The station has also revealed its Workday lineup featuring Cat Lynch and Dan Leach, and recruited some senior producers.
Other networks in the city have admitted they are keeping an eye on how SCA’s changes will shake up the Perth radio market.
Tim Arnold, not Tom…
Apologies to all involved. This has been fixed.
