The 92.9 Triple M Perth team is taking shape, with the new Breakfast show recruiting two senior producers, Rami Mustafa and Andrew ‘Fordy’ Fordham.

Mustafa was known as ‘Producer Salami’ on Melbourne’s KIIS 101.1 Breakfast show Jase & PJ, and most recently worked on the 2019 season of Channel 10’s Dancing With The Stars. He also previously spent time at 92.9 and producing Carmen & Fitzy on Perth’s 96FM.

Triple M Perth’s content director, Tim Arnold, said in a note to staff that Mustafa’s ability to “control chaos”, produce content off-site and “his little black book” would be real assets to the show.

Fordham started out on the street team for 96FM, but has since been working as a producer on 6PR. Most recently, he has been working on the Breakfast program, which featured Triple M’s new frontman, Basil Zempilas.

Arnold said Fordham was a well-connected local, noting “word is he is also one of the best guest chasers in the business”.

“Given our show will be really leaning into being connected to the day in Perth, I wanted to make sure we got someone with some talkback and news smarts about them,” he added, noting Fordham had those qualities “in buckets”.

In addition to the new recruits, there have been a number of internal appointments.

Natasha Thorniley previously worked as a producer on the Hit 92.9 Breakfast show Xavier, Juelz & Pete. The show was disbanded when 92.9 transformed into Triple M, however Xavier Ellis is part of the new Triple M Breakfast lineup, and Pete Curulli has moved over to Mix 94.5 to replace Dean ‘Clairsy’ Clairs. Thorniley will remain with Triple M 92.9 as an audio producer.

“Tash has absolutely blown me away with her creativity and ‘get-shit-done’ attitude in her few months as a Breakfast audio producer, and it thrills me to say she’ll be staying at my side continuing to grow in her role,” Arnold said.

Shaan Subra who has been working on the Hit WA team as a Workdays announcer will be jumping aboard as the panel operator for Triple M Breakfast.

“Shaan has considerable experience having filled a similar role with Nova Breakfast for a number of years. Shaan’s calm demeanour in high-pressure situations, trust with talent and unwaveringly positive attitude will help add polish to our Breakfast product,” Arnold said.

Tori Piazza will be overseeing Breakfast tactics and promotions.

Zempilas has today said he wants the show to be #1 in five years.
