Rick Lenarcic appointed Capital Radio Network CEO

Capital Radio Network have appointed Rick Lenarcic as their Chief Executive Officer. Lenarcic joins the network with three decades of sales and leadership experience with SCA, Grant Broadcasters and most recently Tapt Media, where he was Head of Direct Sales and Operations and had worked for 18 months across the purchase of the formerNine Radio by the Laundy Family Trust.

Blyton Group Chair, Lucy Blyton-Gray, said:

His deep understanding of live and local broadcasting, combined with his proven commercial and operational leadership, makes him ideally suited to lead our network at this important time.”

Rick Lenarcic said:

Rick will be based in Canberra and commences the role early in July.

Capital Radio Network is owned by the Blyton Group and includes radio stations ForeverClassic 2CA, XLFM, GN FM, 3GG, 6iX, Snow FM, Eagle FM and 2CC Talking Canberra.

A lot has been said about the Super Radio Network’s future in recent times (whether or not it’s on the market, etc.) but I personally wonder if the Capital Radio Network could also get sold or split up at some point?

Don’t know about the network’s other stations, but it’s obvious to me that 6iX and maybe also 2CA/2CC could probably fit well under the Laundy/Tapt Media empire. Just a thought.
