The Grill Team gives Matty an almighty send-off
As hard as it is to imagine The Grill Team without Matty Johns, that’s the scenario facing listeners after today.
Bringing much more than just excellent sporting knowledge, Matty transformed into a great all-rounder as he spent eight years waking Sydney up with his jokes, characters and great yarns.
His final show this morning saw a call and a guest appearance from Triple M Sydney content director Jamie Angel, and calls from Hugh Jackman and Ray Hadley.
Gus also gifted Matty a seat from the soon-to-be-demolished Sydney Football Stadium, where he played many games in his NRL career.
Sydney’s Polish Club were the final band to perform for Live At The Grill for 2019.
Matty also gave a heart-felt farewell to his co-hosts Gus & Pagey, whilst also shouting out the man who hired him; Craig Bruce.
It's Matty Johns Final Show on The Grill Team and to start the show, he wanted to speak from the heart to the boys in the studio.Listen to the Final Show Of Matty Johns on The Grill Team here: http://bit.ly/2QC1OSd

Triple M also put together a lovely video tribute with some of Matty’s best moments, which you can see below:
