Thank you, Canberra: Hit 104.7 fundraiser delivers huge result

Reporter

Canberrans are being thanked for their overwhelming generosity, with the Hit 104.7 team having raised a whopping $28,500 for charity over the month of May.

The Brekky show team of Ned & Josh ventured way out of their comfort zone for a good cause, spending a very cold and windy few hours doing their show whilst suspended 100 metres in the air from abseiling ropes.

Lovett Tower in Woden was the 26 story backdrop for the bizarre charity effort, just one part of the Pony up for Pegasus fundraiser.

Hit 104.7 undertook a campaign to raise much-needed funds for local organisation Pegasus, a charity that runs horse based therapy for people living with disabilities around the ACT.

Pegasus helps kids face their fears every day, helping students to build confidence through their programs.

So, to end a huge month of activity, Ned & Josh used that motivation as the fuel to face their fears, specifically of heights.

The boys were mic’d up and live for the whole journey.

They would earn the right to descend one metre for every hundred dollars donated. As they went over the edge, listeners could hear the fear in their voices and donated accordingly.

As the donations flooded in, the show continued and so did the experiment of mind over matter.

Ned & Josh managed to hit the beats of a normal show while dangling off the side of a Canberra landmark – right down to a ‘flawlessly’ delivered ‘Pink in Paris’ credit line.

As the tally reached $10k, the boys came down and the battle against gravity was over.
