Jase and Lauren’s Melbourne street visit gets an unwelcome visitor
While out and about in Melbourne’s Kingston Heath Reserve, saying hey and giving away cash, including $10K to listeners Rachel and Maddie (pictured), Nova 100‘s Jase and Lauren plus news reader Clint Stanaway has an unexpected visit from the new Kyle and Jackie O bus.
This went down like a lead balloon with the duo commenting this morning:
Lauren: So to everyone who listens to this show, thank you so much. It’s not lost on us that without all of you, we wouldn’t get to do this awesome job that we get to do every morning. So thank you to everyone for coming down and saying hello.
Jase: Some people that weren’t invited. I just want to mention the bus quickly. There’s a giant Kyle and Jackie O bus going around Melbourne at the moment. And you know, like you said it’s not lost on us everyone coming down to say hey, we’re supporting you guys, we’ve come over to Nova with you
Lauren: It’s pretty poor form though to turn up to our event. I must say because, I mean, they fired us. We haven’t done anything wrong to them. They got rid of us, told us we weren’t good enough. And now they’re turning up to where we’re standing there with the people that love our show and listen to our show. And trying to sabotage, it’s a bit tasteless.
Lauren went on to say that some of the attendees offered to take matters into their own hands with Jase saying he thought the bus might end up on blocks.
On a much brighter note Rachel and Maddie were pretty tickled winners of $10K just for saying hey.
To Jase and Lauren – don’t get shitty, get even. Expect more of it – ARN will monster events like this to get noise it’s in their DNA. Here’s what I would adopt as a strategy: Ask why K&J are catfishing Melbourne with those PR photos on the side of the bus? They both look 20yrs younger and in fairness Kyle looks 30 kg’s lighter. So if they’re using fake photos what else is fake on the show? You guys keep it real position K&J as the ‘Catfishers from Sydney’

Poor form from K & J, but guess it sums up how their team operate. Playing dirty may get some notoriety, but doubt it will translate into ratings numbers.

I agree, Peter. It’s just a bit of competitive radio fun. Sounds like Jase & Lauren need to get over themselves.
sounds like Kyle and Jackie O on KIIS are getting to Jase and Lauren. I agree with Peter that they gave KIIS exactly what they wanted. And I was also very surprised that it took them nearly a week to get to their 10,000 person to win the $10,000. Just wonder how many of those 10,000 will be listening to KIIS to win the $200,000 secret sound.

Ha, sounds like Kyle and Jackie are the ones letting things get to them. Why would they be trolling for publicity if they’re so great?
I agree with Lauren, it’s pretty tasteless. Tasteless is on brand for K&J though.
Fun or not what Kyle did and kiss did Was poor form After they sacked Jason and Lauren last year they are just bitter and twisted that they will not get the listeners that they think they will. They are already going to lose listeners to Nova 100 that’s what the truth is.
re Katie, Kyle and Jackie O are new to Melbourne, of course they will do all they can to publicise their show, just like Jase and Lauren did when they went to Nova
