Former regional content director at Grant Broadcasters, Ronnie Stanton, has had his radio work in Canada recognised.

The national director of music, and regional programming director for British Columbia and Alberta at Corus Entertainment took out Canadian Program Director of the Year at the 2020 Broadcast Dialogue Awards.

The award was for his work on Vancouver stations Rock 101 and CFOX.

Stanton left Australia earlier this year to take up the gig, but had in years gone by worked as VP of content at Alpha Media in the USA, and at Cours Entertainment previously as VP of national brands and programming. Closer to home he was the group program director and Morning show host at Prime Radio and also worked for dmg media across various regional roles.

The award organisers said the category is awarded to a program director who demonstrates leadership, while promoting positive workplace culture and creativity, as well as unique programming that engages the station’s target audience.

“PD of the Year nominees may also be judged on community involvement, innovation, talent development, and efforts to promote the station’s identity and core values,” the criteria noted.
