Rob McCasker has taken over as 96FM content director

Rob McCasker is the new content director at ARN‘s 96FM in Perth.

Radio Today can reveal that Rob moved across from Mix 102.3 Adelaide late last year after Geoff Watts resigned from the CD role in Perth.

In a statement to Radio Today, ARN thanked Geoff for his work over the years and revealed he’s not leaving 96FM entirely.

“Late last year, Geoff Watts chose to depart his role as 96FM Content Director to study outside of radio and pursue new work opportunities,” said an ARN spokesperson.

“We’d like to thank Geoff for all his incredible work during his time at ARN and look forward to seeing his next move.

“In great news for ARN, he’s staying in Perth and still doing casual on-air shifts on 96FM, so he remains close to the team.”

The news of the transition comes to light following this week’s announcement that Shane Lowe has joined 96FM Breakfast with Paul and Lise.

“After several months of transition with Geoff, Rob McCasker has taken on the role of 96FM Content Director,” said ARN.

“Rob has made the move to Perth from Adelaide, where he spent the past two and a half years as Mix 102.3’s ‘Breakfast with Jodie & Soda’ EP and Anchor.

“We’re excited to welcome Rob to his new post at 96FM. As a highly regarded EP with over 20 years radio experience across Australia, his strengths will be a valuable asset to the 96FM team in creating content that resonates with Perth listeners.”
