Razor MD jumps to MCM Media

Staff Writer

MCM Media have been on the search for a Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer since December (see here) and they have found what they were looking for.

Jonathan Hopkins will join the company from Razor, where he was the Managing Director.

Hopkins will be in charge of the positioning and commercial maximisation of MCM Media.

MCM CEO Simon Joyce said:

“Jonathan’s brief is to ensure that our content, sales and marketing are completely aligned to deliver the best possible results for audiences and advertisers alike. We had an enormous amount of interest in this role from some of the country’s leading marketers and we are delighted to have an executive of his strategic quality joining our team.”

As MD of Razor, Jonathan was responsible for annual billings of more than $50m across Australia and NZ.

In the past 15 years he has consulted brands like Coca-Cola, Nike, Unilever, Microsoft and General Motors across Europe and Australia.

Hopkins says of his new role, which he will start on April 15:

“After 15 years of advising clients how to do their marketing, I have decided it is time to step up and do some myself! The role is amazing and quite unique in the Australian marketplace. It’s a rare opportunity and I am very excited to be joining a business as innovative, dynamic and forward thinking as MCM Media. Their music platforms have phenomenally passionate followings which are very attractive to advertisers.”
