Radio is the sound of summer: CRA
With the weather warming up, the AC isn’t the only thing we’ll be turning up.
Commercial Radio & Audio (CRA) says across summer, commercial radio remains hot property, with its core 25–54 audience growing 5.5%.

CRA CEO Lizzie Young says it’s also the time when high-value consumers have the most headspace for brands to cut through.
“The numbers tell the story: time spent listening to weekend breakfast is up +2%, weekend drive is surging +11%, and overall reach 10+ stays strong all season long.”
“From long road trips to lazy weekends, summer delivers more listeners, not less. While some other media habits take a holiday, radio keeps audiences switched on and engaged.”
“This is the sound of summer success. And it’s playing on commercial radio.”

Firstly ‘Sound of Summer’ cracking creative…
Secondly, Im assuming these numbers are coming from a survey funded by the radio industry?
When is the last time you heard radio playing on a beach or a cafe?
It’s all Spotify playlists.
Who is funding these “surveys” ?
@mel – I have been into 6 stores today in a regional town.
All have the radio on… but they’re all listening to 2GB… not a single one has the Community station, MMM or HIT playing.
The issue isn’t their willingness to listen, it’s 100% that they are being served content they do not connect with.
