“Radio allows people to do incredible things.” Ten years of Moffee in Coffs
As a young boy, Michael ‘Moffee’ Moffett wanted to do exactly what he is doing right now. Work in radio.
This month sees Moffee notch up ten years with SCA on the Coffs Coast of New South Wales.
Those ten years have mostly been filled with fun moments. Some challenging. Some for which The Benny Hill Show theme would make a suitable backdrop.

But whichever way you look at it, SCA Head of Regional Content Blair Woodcock says Moffee is one of the most motivated and selfless Breakfast announcers around.
Since landing in Coffs Harbour (also affectionately known as ‘Moffs Harbour’), the 106.3 Triple M brekky host has become the go-to source for everything local, earning him a loyal following.
As Moffee told Radio Today, this industry gives the people who work within it the opportunity to do some incredible things.
“I have always aimed to do big stuff, and to show what can be achieved in non-metro markets with small teams and no producers if you work hard.”

During his time on Breakfast, Moffee has broadcast from every corner of the Coffs Coast, twice from London, from his own house – and even his dad’s back deck in Brisbane.
The most recent Xtra Insights survey of Coffs Harbour saw Moffee #1 in Breakfast, with Triple M also the #1 station overall.
Moffee has won an ACRA. Oh, and did he mention he gets to live in paradise?
“How great is this industry?” he marvels.
In terms of highlights over the journey, Moffee says “I think in my time in Coffs, doing the shows out in the community and in London have been the best, being able to bring the stories and paint those pictures is something that has intrigued me since listening to Wayney Poo Roberts as a kid, then later working with him in Ipswich and learning so much.”
There have also been times of great sadness.
“One of the biggest challenges for me was the breakfast show on 17 November 2023, the day after my dad died. He had MND, would often listen online from Brisbane and was always incredibly supportive of my career.”
“To be honest, I think it was one of the best shows I’ve done that day. I am so lucky that I have audio of my dad John that I can listen to whenever I want.”
“We have an amazing team in Coffs, and across SCA, who have allowed me to do what I do. It makes every day exciting.”
And if the odd listener mucks up his nickname and calls him ‘Mossy’ instead of Moffee, it’s all water off a duck’s back.
Moffee – who’s also Content Director for the local Triple M and Hit stations – says from day one, Coffs Harbour felt like home.

“I’ve been very fortunate in my career to have the support I’ve had,” he said on LinkedIn.
This chapter of his radio life has had a massive impact, both personally and professionally.
“I will always have Mickey Maher, Peter Yiamarelos and Sam Williams to thank,” he says.
“Thanks also to Duncan Potts, Jase Allen and Luke Campbell for always having my back, and laughing at me – or with me. I’ve never really been able to work that out.”
“As long as people are laughing, I don’t care.”

Moffie loves Radio, he’s passionate about it. He cares about his listeners. He is a true Radio Broadcaster not a jock. He is creative, & thinks outside the circle. He’s different. Congratulations Moff Man on your 10 years in Coff’s Harbour.
Congrats mate!
Duncan M.
