Paris Humphrey departs Hit Network for KIIS FM Melbourne

Former Assistant Editor

Hit Darling Downs announcer Paris Humphrey has landed a new gig at KIIS 101.1 as a producer for Jase & PJ.

SCA has confirmed she’ll depart Hit100.7 Breakfast, which she hosts Hamish Carter, mid-way through November.

“HIT Breakfast team member Paris Humphrey has tendered her resignation with the station to move interstate,” SCA Toowoomba CD David Burton said.

“Paris will be leaving us mid-November and we wish her all the best in her next venture. We’ll be announcing who will be working alongside Hamish in due course.”

Originally from South Australia, Humphrey kicked off her career in community radio and stand-up comedy, before eventually attending the Australian Radio School.

Paris has worked in commercial radio for almost two years, a journey that began at Super Radio Network’s Onefm in Tamworth before she secured a move to Southern Cross Austereo’s Hit South Queensland through the mentorship of the Hubble program.

“This new role with KIIS is one that I’d always said I would love if the opportunity arose and I had to apply as soon as I saw it become available,” she tells Radio Today.

“I will be stepping away from the mic for the most part but it’s an amazing opportunity for me to gain life experience, test my creativity and contribute to an amazing cap city team. I think a lot about my landing the gig was a fluke.. but don’t tell my new bosses that! Haha.”

IF 'ADVICE' GROUPS WERE A PERSON

IF 'ADVICE' GROUPS WERE A PERSON I had to make my friends help me with this, so you better enjoy it.. I also didn't stand in just one spot so the effort has been immense…. Don't hate me, I love advice and don't want to be booted… <3 Paris

She was named in Radio Today’s Top New Talent to Watch in 2019, won the Best Newcomer On-Air (Provincial) at the 2018 ACRAs, and has developed a significant following on social media with viral videos commenting on funny elements of popular culture.

“My experience with SCA has been nothing but positive and there’s been so many people willing to give me the time of day and support me throughout journey so far, of course my co-host Hamish Carter has taught me so much and been very patient while I learnt the ropes,” Paris says.

“Additionally, Mickey Maher, Adrian Brine, Luke Toohey have been hugely supportive of me and my current CD for giving me a shot at a gig after finding me on Hubble, David Burton. I’m so grateful for my time with SCA, but can’t wait for my next step!”
