Luke Bona to fill in on 2SM Breakfast

Reporter

Luke Bona will host Breakfast on Sydney’s 2SM whilst Tim Webster takes a well-earned break.

Bona – whose long running Triple M talkback show The Night Shift was axed early last year – will take over the early timeslot at the Super Radio Network’s flagship station from Friday.

Following the demise of his Triple M show, Bona found a new home at Sydney’s 2GB, filling in for Drive host Clinton Maynard over Easter, while also appearing regularly on Phil O’Neil’s overnight show.

Testing the waters (no pun intended) for future opportunities? Afterall, Chris Smith will be going on his Mediterranean Cruise in about a month from now while Tim Webster will be off on a Collette Tour of Norway & Iceland in September.

I even wonder if Luke Bona could be a future candidate for the Afternoon shift on 2SM, as you’d imagine he’d be able to retain more of the “Chris Smith Across Australia” listenership than Brent Bultitude relay from 2HD Newcastle is likely to at the moment.

Either way, I didn’t know that Luke filled in for Clinton Maynard over Easter although had been aware of the spots on Overnight’s with Phil O’Neil + other shifts. Guess it must’ve happened over the Easter long weekend and/or in the survey break afterwards, because Clinton definitely presented his 2GB program live from the Sydney Royal Easter Show on April 2!

A good move would look at finding him a regular show, afternoons or evenings would be the go.
