Nielsen end ‘Monthly UB’s measure

Staff Writer

Nielsen Media Research have advised that the long utilised 'Monthly Unique Browsers' metric will cease to be reported, and audited, as of 28 February.

Given that, Radio Today has sought clarification from Nielsen as to the most accurate way to report traffic information, and has been informed that from 1 March the most suitable metric to report will be 'Average Daily Unique Browsers'.

Accordingly, that will be our headline metric each month.

Radio Today is consistently on the record as saying that transparency in traffic figures is important. We hold the view that independently measured and audited traffic figures are the appropriate and professional way to report traffic, and we have led the way in doing so.

Radio Today again would like to publicly encourage all websites in the radio space particularly, to join us in independently measuring and auditing traffic through the industry standard of Nielsen.
