Christmas Radio in November

You may’ve already been reading our earlier story about the return of Radio Santa on DAB+ in Australia.

It seems radio stations across the United States have already begun the switch from their regular music format to holiday carols.

For the most part, stations are reverting to more traditional songs this year with the Christmas carols from our childhood instead of modernised Hot A.C. Varieties.

Classics include Bing Crosby, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Perro Como, and Dean Martin.

Others include updated versions from the 80’s and 90’s. All airing non stop and sometimes jock free.

There’s a milestone for one particular U.S. Station. KOSI in Denver will switch over on November 16 for the 22nd consecutive year.

Most stations will retain the format for two months and return to regular programming in January.

In Australia, most music stations incorporate some festive songs from the start of December then ramp up to Christmas Day.

Happy Holidays !
